The Floating Oscillating Surge Wave Energy Converter (FOSWEC) was designed, built, and tested for numerical model validation specifically for the Wave Energy Converter Simulator (wecSim). It is a 1:33 scale WEC that moves in heave, pitch, and surge. Power is generated by the relative motion between two flaps.
The Laboratory Upgrade Point Absorber (LUPA) was designed as an open-source platform for modular experimental and numerical testing. It is a 1:25-scale WEC that provides a platform for validating hydrodynamic models, control systems, and power take-off.

The Oregon State Human Powered Submarine Team (OSU HPS) was founded in June of 2023. We are a group of student engineers, scientists, creatives, and visionaries who were brought together by a shared goal to start something new together. Our mission is to be the first team from Oregon to compete in the International Submarine Races, a biennial competition where teams from all over the world design, build, and race their submarines made entirely from scratch to be powered solely by the SCUBA diver pilot inside.
The purpose of OSU HPS is to facilitate a free, multifaceted project for students in all academic disciplines. This project encompasses the learning and implementation of hydrodynamics, electronics, composite materials, physics, machining, and administration. It creates an opportunity for hands-on learning and project development. This project strives to fill a gap in multidisciplinary competition clubs at Oregon State.
